On The Real Housewives of Potomac episode “All Tea, All Shade,” while Ashley Darby has a difficult time mixing business with pleasure at her restaurant Oz, Karen Huger invites the ladies to a high tea at a fancy hotel. When Gizelle Bryant shows up, she meets new ‘wife Monique Samuels, who Gizelle didn’t expect to meet. She right away seems miffed about it. She barely shakes the hand of Monique who stands up and introduces herself.
Gizelle comments (after the tea, and to the camera): “I didn’t know I was going to meet any new friends here today … and with Princess Leia hair. Star Wars, really? Is that what we’re doing?” (For the record, we approve of Monique’s fashion-forward look; it’s a refreshing change.) Karen explains that whenever someone new enters their circle of friends, “Gizelle feels it’s her responsibility to hate them. She’s the self-appointed hazer of our group.” But as Karen says, “I think she enjoys it.” The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 9pm on Bravo.
