What do you do if you’re up one point and the formidable Clippers get the ball in low to their best post scorer Blake Griffin — with just seconds to play? If you’re Harrison Barnes, you just rip the ball out of strongman Griffin’s hands. Game over.
That’s what the Mavericks wanted when they ordered Barnes off the Golden State Warriors’ menu, bringing the elite forward, his championship mettle and his potential to blossom into a Top 5 superstar to Dallas. The Mavs have increasingly seen that they the got a great deal in Barnes, who remains a warrior (lower case w) and wears a winning culture on his broad shoulders. Sometimes you just have to just rip a victory out of somebody else’s hands. Mavs held on 86-95.
