The recent opening of the Trump Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. opened not long before the new president took up residence on the same street. That marked the fifth big U.S. city with a Trump Hotel in it. According to the CEO of Trump Hotels, Eric Danziger, the Trump Hotel business is about to enter a period of aggressive American expansion.
“There are 26 major metropolitan areas in the US, and we’re in five. I don’t see any reason that we couldn’t be in all of them eventually,” Danzier said during a panel at a Los Angeles conference, according to Bloomberg.
The Trump Hotels business launched in 2007 and hired Danziger, something of a hospitality legend, in 2015. (He famously started as a bellman at the luxurious Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco in the 1970s.) The Trump Hotels business also plans to launch a lower-priced option called Scion hotels. The five cities Danziger refers to are New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Miami and Washington.
