Vladislav Smolyanskyy is the young man from Ukraine behind PinBlock, a line of building block toys. What makes PinBlock unique is that each piece, each block, is the same shape and size and has two pins. When two blocks are connected the pins “disappear” making each block appear as a “pixel” in, say, a mosaic. And the pins that connect the blocks help each block become essentially flexible, so a child’s creation can bend and turn whatever she’s building in a sculptural way. Walls can curve. Empower your own little Frank Gehry. Make helmets, castles, trees, bracelets — anything you can imagine.
