The Philadelphia 76ers, long the laughingstock of the NBA, are surging now that that “The Process” is showing results. Or you could just call rookie center Joel Embiid “The Process.” Because even without heralded #1 pick Ben Simmons on the floor, Embiid has led the 76ers to wins in five of their last six games. And with a win over Charlotte on Friday the 76ers have won three straight. Might not seem like much but it’s the longest win streak for Philadelphia in three years.
Not only that, but a look at the standings this morning reveal that the 76ers presently own the longest winning streak in the Eastern Conference. In fact, throughout the entire NBA only one team has won more in a row than Brett Brown’s Sixers — the Clippers are winners of five straight. Embiid is making a bid for the All-Star Game — and if you want to watch a fun, enthusiastic, gloriously gifted player that weekend, you should vote for the big man out of Cameroon, by way of Kansas.
