Jeremy Lin is resting his aggravated hamstring a little longer in Brooklyn, but the Harvard grad and enormously popular NBA guard isn’t resting his head. Lin, along with other NBA eminences like coaches Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr, expressed disagreement and disbelief at President Donald Trump’s so-called #MuslimBan. “As an American,” Lin tweeted, “sorry for everyone affected by the #MuslimBan … this is foreal gettin out of control.” Lin, a devout Christian, is also a unrepentant internationalist whose parents emigrated to the U.S. from Taiwan.
Despite expressing what seemed like concern on November 9 after Trump was elected,

Lin did not directly endorse a candidate for president in the 2016 election. Even talking about Donald Trump’s “locker room talk” Lin called it vulgar but refused to outwardly condemn Trump — only saying he didn’t “agree in any way at all” with Trump’s comments (see below).
