For decades, people have been discarding used cooking oil in the sink (ruining pipes) or collecting oil in containers like coffee cans and keeping it in the freezer to eventually “throw away” which means it goes into a landfill. Single mom LaTangela Newsome from Allen, Texas has created a solution to the environmental dilemma — Grease Bags. Grease Bags is a bag that collects, absorbs and encapsulates used cooking oil. Each Grease Bag can hold up to 32 oz. of grease. The beauty of Grease Bags is that they are 100 percent compostable and re-closeable. Newsome will pitch her Grease Bags on Shark Tank on January 13.

Newsome plans to sell individual Grease Bags for $6.99 on the Grease Bags website but they won’t be ready to ship until May 2017. Shark Tank airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC.
