While investigating the murder of 19-year-old Marines Corp wife Erin Corwin, Dateline NBC correspondent Andrea Canning interviewed Erin’s mother. Canning revealed empathy: “I’m a Marine Corps wife myself and I know know that it can be a very lonely life for people. And it’s not easy.”
Canning was introduced to her future husband, USMC Major Tony Bancroft, by ABC’s chief White House correspondent Martha Raddatz, who met the handsome fighter pilot in Iraq in 2005. Raddatz told Canning, “I’ve got it: the perfect person for you.” Canning and Bancroft married in 2008. Since 2011, Bancroft has been working as a research analyst in the waste industry for Gabelli & Company in New York City where he and Canning are raising their five daughters. They had their fifth baby in May 2015. Canning said “This is the last one!” Dateline NBC airs Fridays at 9pm on NBC.
