Amazon Originals topped Netflix for the first time in Golden Globe nominations this year, beating its streaming rival 11 to 6 with the help of five nominations for Kenneth Lonergan‘s highly regarded Manchester by the Sea, which Amazon bought the rights to after Sundance raved. Beating Netflix in Golden Globes is for Amazon a bit like if Amazon founder Jeff Bezos‘ other big project — Blue Origin Space Exploration — beat Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
