In the Modern Family episode ‘Grab It’, things turn upside-down for Jay (Ed O’Neill) when his son-in-law Phil (Ty Burrell) wants to be a member of his club. Meanwhile, Phil’s wife Claire (Julie Bowman) thinks she has a lot of influence on her daughter Alex’s (Ariel Winter) life choices — but it turns out she’s wrong. She finds out when she takes Alex to an event featuring the author of the self-help/inspirational business book “Grab It!” The tagline of the book is “If you can think it, You can grab it!”
The Grab It! author is portrayed by Shannon Cochran. The Chicago stage actress is known for her TV roles on Scandal (Attorney General Susan Sawyer), The Office (Pam’s mom), NYPD Blue (Lois Syner), and on Seinfeld (Sheila in The Parking Space episode), among others. She’s also recognized for her role as Anna Morgan in the 2002 film The Ring with Naomi Watts. Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9pm on ABC.
