On the Married to Medicine episode ‘Forecast: Clouds With a 100% Chance of Shade’, Mariah Huq invites all the ladies to her home after Lisa Nicole Cloud‘s party where all hell broke loose. Lisa Nicole was warned by Toya’s husband Dr. Eugene Harris about having a baby in her mid 40s, and Dr. Simone Whitmore warned Quad Webb-Lunceford about waiting to having a baby like Lisa Nicole. Balancing a career and family isn’t easy for anyone — so when one woman is criticizing another for trying, it can be disheartening to watch.
In a previous episode, when Dr. Heavenly Kimes met Genise Shelton and her husband Dr. Courtney Shelton (internal medicine), Heavenly was quick to question the couple’s living arrangement. Courtney and Genise have two children together, and are raising Courtney four other children from his previous marriage. At Mariah’s, Heavely apologizes to Genise “if I insulted you” but Genise isn’t ready to accept that easily. Genise reminds Heavenly that what she said was “very rude, disrespectful and very ignorant.” Heavenly made a jab about Genise working for her husband to which Genise says, “It’s a huge blessing to work side by side with your husband.” And when Genise isn’t working at her husband’s office and raising their children, she’s in the gym working out. Genise recently competed at the Annual Open Pro & Amateur Global Cup Health Expo Championship in Atlanta (see photos below). Married to Medicine airs Sundays at 9pm on Bravo.
