Sweden is taking a new tact against “mansplaining” — the habit many men have of oversharing their advice and opinions with women who don’t want or need them. The Swedes have created a hotline women can call to report incidents of mansplaining. Run by Unionen, Sweden’s “largest trade union on the private labour market and the largest white-collar trade union in the world,” the mansplaining hotline is meant to help employees and employers recognize the problem in the workplace.

That said, it should be interesting to see how many calls of domestic mansplaining cases it receives! The hotline will be staffed by both men and women. They will simply take reports and very carefully not offer advice to the callers. The hotline is in place to raise awareness.
