On the Bar Rescue episode ‘Listen Y’all it’s Sabatoge,’ Jon Taffer meets Nita Wyatt and her husband Ryan Burks, the new owners of Schafer’s Bar & Grill in Sumner, Washington. They bought the place from Jeff Schafer in 2015. Schafer opened the bar in 2010 and according to him the bar was making $1.2 to $1.8 million a year. Wyatt and Burks asked him to stay on as manager. They quickly clashed and revenues took a hit. They’re now facing $500,000 in debt.
Taffer agrees to rebrand the place R.Lee, after Wyatt and Burks’ 3-year-old son but shortly after filming the show, the bar went back to being Schafer’s. They even rehired the bartender Lindsay who dramatically quit while filming the show because she didn’t know how to make a vodka gimlet. In May, Nita Wyatt wrote on her Facebook page: “They should be called BarFuckups” and referred to the renovation as “half ass.” Bar Rescue airs Sundays at 10pm on SPIKE.
