In the Sisterhood of Hip Hop episode ‘Hustler Musik’, while the battle to score a feature on MC Lyte’s new track gets heated, Lee Mazin goes home to Philadelphia and has a sit-down with her two brothers. When Rafique asks Lee if she’s spoken with their father, she says no. Rafique is surprised to learn that she hasn’t told their father that she’s been in LA.
Lee explains her relationship with her father like this: “He definitely wasn’t a deadbeat dad – we talked, but I just feel like he doesn’t take the time out to fully know me.” That said, Lee admits that her father has been making more of an effort lately and says: “I feel like I’m the stubborn one now.” Lee doesn’t want that kind of negativity around her, so she decides to reach out to her dad on Sisterhood of Hip Hip which airs Tuesdays at 9pm on Oxygen.
