Ryan Frankel and Kunal Sarda met at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Together they created VerablizeIt, a translation app they pitched on Shark Tank during the show’s fourth season finale. VerbalizeIt charged $1.75 a minute for phone calls, 17 cents per word for documents. On Shark Tank, they turned down an offer from Mark Cuban ($250k for 25 percent) and accepted one from Kevin O’Leary ($250k for 20 percent). However, before the show aired, Frankel and Sarda pulled out of the deal with O’Leary.
