The newest version of the Dream Team Coach K. will be taking to Brazil looks as dominant as the first one, even with many of the NBA’s super-elite taking a pass on Rio. DeAndre Jordan will play Patrick Ewing’s role with Charles Barkley‘s shoes being filled by a combination of DeMarcus Cousins and Draymond Green. Klay Thompson takes Chris Mullin‘s role. But who’s Michael Jordan? The answer appears to be Kevin Durant, whose profile has only grown with his controversial move to the Golden State Warriors.
Durant led the USA in scoring with 19 as they casually blew out China 106-57 in a pre-Olympics exhibition. Durant was showing his all-around game too, dishing four assists to go with his scoring. And he’s giving Warriors fans a tantalizing taste of what may be to come, since the Warriors are now essentially a dream team also. As J.A. Adande tweeted: “Kevin Durant has three assists in his first four minutes of action. Looks like he’s fitting into Golden State’s offense before he even gets there.”
