Houston Rockets superstar, Kardashian hanger, and Adidas ambassador James Harden knew exactly what he had in front of him as he faced a young kid at basketball camp. Harden had seen this kid’s defensive style before: kid stared into Harden’s eyes, no idea where the ball was, his feet moving but without real defensive purpose. Harden knew this defense intimately — he’d seen it in the mirror.
Harden knows how to blow past the best defenders — but he’d score 60 a game against himself. Here he saw his doppelganger and he had some fun. Despite the tough slam love, there is utter joy and pandemonium after Harden throws down this dunk — he’s like the Pied Piper as the kids squeal with delight, hopping together with The Beard in beautiful harmony. Even the kid who got beat for the slam is happy. For dunks and defense like this, hoops fans usually have to wait for the All-Star Game.
