Sisters Donna and Rosy Khalife of Washington, D.C. are the entrepreneurs behind Surprise Ride, a subscription service that sends boxes of interactive activities to kids to spark their creativity. They pitched Surprise Ride on Shark Tank in 2013 (Season 5) but didn’t get a deal. They didn’t respond to Robert Herjavec’s offer in time before he changed his mind.
After Shark Tank, the Khalife sisters got an investment of $600,000 from billionaire Irwin Jacobs, co-founder of Qualcomm. Donna, the Harvard Business School grad, pitched him at a scholarship event. And later, they received a call from Shark Kevin O’Leary. The Khalifes and O’Leary will meet on an episode of Beyond the Tank which airs Tuesdays at 10pm on ABC.
