Kirsten Dunst’s character Peggy on Fargo was one of the few to survive before the second season came to an end. The season got rave reviews, including those from Guillermo del Toro who wrote: “What FARGO has done in TV is amazing. It’s not trying to emulate any other show. It has its very own place in the Golden Age of TV.” While watching one of the last episodes in December, Stephen King wrote: “…FARGO may be the best thing on TV in the last three years. Terrifying and hilarious.” Even Dunst’s mom wants to see more (see below). Season 3 of Fargo, which will follow an all new cast and storyline, will air sometime in 2017.

So what’s next for Dunst? She’s starring in the sci-fi thriller Midnight Special. Jeff Nichols wrote and directed the film which is about a father (Michael Shannon) and his 8-year-old son (Jaeden Lieberher) who are on the lam after the father discovers his son Alton has intense special powers. An extreme religious sect believes Alton is their savior. Some government agents think he’s a lethal weapon. Dunst plays Alton’s mother. Midnight Special will be released in select theaters on March 18.
