It’s been three years since Grammy Award-winning musician/writer Jewel has been on tour. She’s getting ready to hit the road again in March to promote her Picking Up The Pieces album, which includes the songs “His Pleasure Is My Pain” and “Nicotine Love.” It’s a small tour, stopping at just nine cities in the southeast but those in attendance also get the treat of hearing Jewel share stories from her memoir, Never Broken: Songs Are Only Half the Story. Neil Young wrote a blurb for the book: “In this, her first memoir, she [Jewel] has a lot to reflect on, and the touch to tell her story well.”
Jewel fans hope the Alaskan-born singer will dish on her current relationship with Colts quarterback Charlie Whitehurst. Or at least reveal something about her marriage to pro rodeo cowboy Ty Murray. They split in 2014. So far Jewel doesn’t have Indianapolis on the list of tour cities, but Whitehurst may change the dynamic. Maybe she won’t tell stories about Murray after all, except in those heart-wrenching songs.
