Tree T-PEE is a plastic cone that fits over the base of a tree. It’s designed as a water containment system for trees that not only saves water, but protects trees from frost and grows stronger trees. The cone can absorb heat and increase the temperature around the base of a tree by 12 degrees which is key to the growth of young trees (1 to 5 years old), particularly citrus trees in southern states like Florida.

Florida farmer Johnny Georges pitched his Tree T-Pee on Shark Tank in 2013. It was an emotional pitch as he said he was carrying out his father’s dream. It was his father, Rick Georges, who first developed the tree T-PEE for frost protection decades ago. Johnny Georges got an investment from guest shark John Paul DeJoria. Tree T-PEEs are available to purchase on the company website — a white one sells for $8.95, the black goes for $7.95. Tree T-Pees are also available at Home Depot stores in Florida.
