Two entrepreneurial men from Sandpoint, Idaho have created a new kind of drone. Their line of X PlusOne drones can fly up to 60 mph and as high as 10,000 feet. The faster speed is great for mapping and delivery – and you thought Amazon was ahead of the curve. The xCraft drone inventor is aerospace engineer JD Claridge who has teamed up businessman Charles Manning. (Manning is CEO of a mobile analytics tech company, Kochava.) Both will appear on Shark Tank where they will watch the Sharks fight over them and their drones.

Three versions of the X PlusOne are available for purchase. There’s the Platinum edition which includes Pixhawk + GPS + Telemetry. That costs $2200. The Ready-to-Fly version ($1700) comes with a 2/4 GHz transmitter, battery and charger similar to the Platinum but without the 3D Robotics Pixhawk autopilot. And then there’s the Build Your Own version which is an airframe kit and control board. You assemble it and then add your own radio, power system, and battery. That’s $1550. All three are available for purchase on the xCraft website. Shark Tank airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC.
