Actress Hayden Panettiere, who plays Juliette Barnes on Nashville, gave birth to her daughter Kaya in December. Her character Juliette also became a mother for the first time on Nashville. Juliette and Avery had a little girl named Cadence. On the show, Juliette has had a difficult time going back to work while her husband Avery – and her assistant Emily – have been taking care of Cadence. According to TVLine, Panettiere has been suffering in real life, too.
According to People, Panettiere “is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression.” Panettiere was about to begin filming the ninth episode of Season 4 (to air November 18). “It remains unclear if the show will temporarily write out her character, Juliette, or postpone filming of her scenes until she returns.” Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.
