Dr. Robert Neulander was convicted of murdering his wife Leslie Neulander in their DeWitt, New York mansion in 2012. The couple was discussing a trial separation but still living together. On the morning of Leslie’s death, Robert said he found his wife on the floor of the shower unconscious. When he tried to call for help, he said the phone had been disconnected. He then ran across the 8000 sq. ft. home to find his daughter Jenna, to tell her to call for help. Neulander contends that his wife must have fallen. But that theory doesn’t account for the blood splatter found on the ceiling and floor.

Dr. Neulander is serving a sentence of 20 years in life in prison at Elmira Correctional Facility. He maintains his innocence. And his daughter Jenna believes her father is innocent. Defense attorneys are appealing the conviction. Dateline was the first to highlight the case. CBS’ 48 Hours will profile the doctor on October 3 at 10pm.
