Nike is like that rock band or artist that’s so established it doesn’t care anymore — it just makes the art it wants, and you either get it or you don’t. And that’s when glorious things happen. Sure somewhere in the far-off distance is the sound of upstart musicians like Under Armour banging drums and picking strings, but Nike will wait to see them when they climb all the way up its mountain. For now, the stage on top belongs to Nike — and nothing attests to it better than the new LeBron 12 “What The” model set for release on September 5.

The Nike “What The” LeBron 12 is the Sgt. Pepper of kicks. The Kind of Blue of sneakers. The Illmatic of soles. So good it couldn’t decide on just one logo — it sports both the “dunkman” and “swingman” on the tongues. The $250 LeBron 12 will drop on September 5, 2015.
