Many Trump University students didn’t graduate into the world with connections, knowledge, and a new ability to spot the Art of the Deal. Instead they got the equivalent of a box of rocks, according to complaints filed with the New York Attorney General’s office. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has brought a civil suit against Trump on behalf of disgruntled former Trump University students. The suit claims Trump University’s activities were “persistent fraudulent, illegal and deceptive conduct.” (Maybe he was just teaching them not to get suckered? Business can get pretty tough.)
Scheiderman says Trump operated an “unlicensed school” and that students were misled about the type of instruction they’d receive and its benefits. Trump University allegedly took in $40 million from students. Trump University changed its name to Trump Entrepreneur Initiative to avoid confusion about being a licensed school. It is not presently accepting students.
