The Lano Company specializes in skin-care products and cosmetics. The company was founded in Kansas City, Missouri, by Miranda Coggins in 2005. It’s a successful business. Their first product was LanoLip, a medical grade lanolin-based lip balm. Lano drives millions in revenue but Coggins won’t stop making new products that no one wants, e.g. light-up tweezers. And their cosmetics branding is completely chaotic.
In walks The Profit’s Marcus Lemonis who believes there’s a lot of potential for growth. But the Coggins (Miranda and her husband) will need to trust Lemonis. He wants to give their cosmetics line(s) — Pure Illuminaton and Pure Glam — a totally new modern look (read: no 1980s zebra stripes). The Profit airs Tuesdays at 10pm on CNBC.
