Fare Thee Well, indeed. The Grateful Dead will soldier on at Soldier Field in Chicago this weekend, news which may have begun as a Ripple in still water but is now as big as a Sugar Magnolia. The good news for Deadheads who aren’t truckin’ into the Windy City is that anybody can see and hear the shows — if you want to drop a little acid coin. YouTube will be broadcasting all three shows live from Soldier field for $29.95 apiece, dancing bear not included. Any Internet-connected device will do.

The shows are July 3, 4 and 5 at 8pm. All three shows can be streamed here too — it’s just $79.95 for the three that way, also $29.95 per. The Dead and its fans are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their long strange trip together. They’ve said they’re returning to Chicago to say a “proper” goodbye.
