Who Is Gunnar Nelson on ‘Celebrity Wife Swap’?

Gunnar Nelson is the identical twin brother of Matthew Nelson. As the band NELSON, together they wrote and sang songs including the triple-platinum After The Rain album in 1990. That year, their song “Love and Affection” reached #1 on Billboard’s Top 40. The brothers are in the Guinness Book of World Records as being the only family to have #1 records in three successive generations. Their father was teen idol Ricky Nelson (“Poor Little Fool”) and their grandfather was Ozzie Nelson (“And Then Some,” 1934) of Ozzie and Harriet TV fame. The famous blood line doesn’t stop there. Gunnar’s sister is actress Tracy Nelson (Square Pegs). And their maternal uncle is NCIS actor Mark Harmon.

At 47, the Nelson brothers are still rocking — their latest album is Peace, Out. When not touring or working in the studio on their new album (country!), Gunnar is being followed by a camera. He’s starring on Celebrity Wife Swap. His new bride Lila Kersavage (they married in October 2014) will swap places with the girlfriend of Motley Crue’s Vince Neil. Celebrity Wife Swap airs Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.
