Anthony Riley, who wowed judges with his powerful stage presence and awesome talent during his Season 8 run on The Voice, was found dead in the basement of a Philadelphia apartment building.
Riley, whose blind audition doing a James Brown classic — “I Got You” (I Feel Good”) — is probably the strongest performance the show has seen, left The Voice after the first what the show calls its “Battle Rounds” — citing substance abuse problems. Riley had his own much more serious battle rounds to fight. He ultimately lost. Riley was 28.
