Houston’s SportsRadio 610 morning drive host Nick Wright doesn’t want NBA guard Jeremy Lin back in his town — and he’s launching a Say No To Lin (#SayNoToLin) campaign to try to stop it from happening. There is a great deal of speculation that Lin, a free agent, will return to Houston where he spent two solid years before his expiring contract made him irresistible to the Lakers. (Lin played in all 82 games in his first season with the Rockets.) But Wright thinks bringing Lin back would be a disaster — mostly because he dislikes Jeremy Lin fans.

The popular Houston radio personality admits that Lin “could actually fit a need for this team.” But that’s not enough to counter the fans Lin brings with him, in Wright’s opinion. “I can’t deal with the return of Jeremy Lin truthers to my life,” Wright writes, about the rabid American and international Lin fans who follow his every move. “They troll the internet for any and all Jeremy Lin commentary and wait for their opportunity to pounce. They make Birthers look like reasonable, grounded human beings.” Lin fans are passionate, surely. (There are probably a few hanging around Lakers coach Byron Scott’s house right now, waiting to heckle him.) Will Wright’s Say No To Lin campaign work? Or does James Harden have the final say?
