Lifetime has produced an original TV movie, Cleveland Abduction, to tell the story (mostly) of Michelle Knight. Knight was one of three women who were held captive, raped, and beaten for 11 years by Ariel Castro in Cleveland. The other two women, Amanda Berry and Gina Dejesus are portrayed in the movie but in Cleveland Abduction, Knight is painted “as a hero who kept the other girls’ spirits high in order to survive.”
Michelle Knight is portrayed by Taryn Manning. She’s best known for her roles as Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett in Orange Is the New Black, Janeane in 8 Mile with Eminem, and Nola in Hustle & Flow with Terrence Howard. Cleveland Abduction will premiere on Lifetime on April 2 at 8pm. Following the movie, Lifetime will air an interview with Michelle Knight, (Beyond the Headlines, 10pm). Knight is the author of the new memoir, Finding Me: A Decade of Darkness, a Life Reclaimed: A Memoir of the Cleveland Kidnappings.
