Mike and Scott J. Ciprari are two brothers who founded the drum company SJC Drums. They’re the classic startup. They started making custom drums in their grandmother’s basement and became a million-dollar business. The brothers pride themselves on craftsmanship, innovation, and customer service. SJC Drums has deals with big name musicians including Branden Steineckert (Rancid), Cyrus Bolooki (New Found Glory), Zach Lind (Jimmy Eat World) and Tré Cool of Green Day. But now SJC Drums is “plagued by a clash of egos and family feuds.”
The Southbridge, Massachusetts drum company will be featured on the reality TV show The Profit, where investor Marcus Lemonis comes in to help small businesses like SJC Drums get back to making a profit. SJC needs a retailer to get to the next level but the competition is fierce (as the grandson of Sam Ash is about to tell them) and sibling rivalry is a big obstacle. The Profit airs Tuesdays at 10pm on CNBC.
