Rapper Flo Rida (yes, he’s from Florida) will perform his new hit G.D.F.R. on Dancing with the Stars. G.D.F.R. stands for Going Down For Real. There are plenty of common sexual innuendos in the lyrics but with a team of 14 writers behind the song, there is an occasional, surprising twist here in and there. Flo Rida sings about “throwing these Emirates in the sky/ Spending this As-salamu alaykum.” And he mentions tennis star Anna Kournikova, who also lives in Florida. G.D.F.R. features Sage the Gemini and Lookas.
DigitalSpy describes Flo Rida as “a chart pest that seems impossible to get rid of.” And G.D.F.R. as “a throw-away piece of hip-pop with an annoying brass loop and lyrics of ‘freaky chicks.’” That said, DigitalSpy acknowledges that Flo Rida continues to climb the charts. Flo Rida will perform GDFR on DWTS on May 12, 8pm on ABC.
