Rock star Demi Lovato is speaking publicly about her struggles with bipolar depression and the self-medication she tried to hide. She gives her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama (That ‘70s Show) a lot of credit for her recovery. “He’ll never take credit for a lot of my sobriety and my recovery but I guarantee it, I wouldn’t be alive without him today,” Lovato said today on the Today show. The 22-year-old is now three years sober.
The Skyscraper singer has recently become an ambassador for the mental health campaign, Be Vocal: Speak Up. Lovato is encouraging individuals to speak up for themselves and use their voice to make a difference.
