Jeremy Lin will leave LA unless someone has slipped something into his drink--and the Denver Nuggets may be the perfect spot for the underrated guard. Lin can score and Denver loves a scorer. You know what else might be a draw for Lin in Denver? His old Linsanity coach, Mike D’Antoni. D’Antoni was at the helm in New York for the Knicks’ Linsanity moment, and the venerated coach is also a recent Lakers exile. D’Antoni and Lin might be a dream pair in the Rockies. The Nuggets need the change of direction D’Antoni could provide–and Lin could both spell Ty Lawson at point and play good minutes in the 2-spot.
And word is that D’Antoni–who got kicked out of the Lakers coaching seat so his replacement Byron Scott could lodge the franchise deeper into the San Andreas fault–may turn up in Denver in the fall. Denver is a good place for a coach who’s seen the depths–it’s the mile high city after all. And despite D’Antoni’s inglorious exits from Los Angeles and New York, he’d be a fresh look for the Nuggets with his running style and Denver’s historic love of scoring.
