If all-star LaMarcus Aldridge brings his unguardable turnaround jumper to Dallas next season, all-everything Dirk Nowitzki would have no problem becoming a Sixth Man. That’s what the unselfish Nowitzki said in a press conference this week, though it’s hard to imagine coach Rick Carlisle not starting Dirk–no matter who’s on the roster. Nowitzki’s almost 37, but playing well.
Asked about the potential of coming off the bench during the final two years of his contract, Nowitzki responded in typical fashion: “I want to be on a winning team. Playoffs. Hopefully deep runs. So, yeah, anything I’ve got to do to help is obviously no question.” With his pledge Nowitzki delivers very bad news for one group of NBA players–those out to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award.
