Discussing the status of his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, Bobby Brown gave a false impression to people at a concert Saturday night. The 46-year-old singer told a Dallas crowd: “Bobbi is awake.” The news electrified the crowd at the Frankie Beverly show where Brown was performing. With one exception, Bobbi Kristina Brown has been in a medically induced coma since she was found unconscious in a bathtub on Jan 31. Doctors aren’t sure whether she’ll recover.
Bobby Brown was apparently simply overcome with emotion when he said his daughter was “awake.” Bobbi Kristina Brown remains in a coma. In a statement released after the concert Brown revised his description of Bobbi Kristina being “awake,” saying “the quality of her life will not be known for years to come,” according to People. Alicia Etheredge-Brown, the singer’s wife, said Bobby was in an “emotional state” when he described Bobbi Kristina as awake. Bobbi Kristina is, of course, Brown’s daughter with the late Whitney Houston.
