Blue Bell Creameries issued a recall of all of its products in 23 states and overseas. Samples of Blue Bell’s popular chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream tested positive for Listeria monocytotgenes. Blue Bell’s recall comes just two weeks after Sabra Dipping Co. recalled more than 30,000 cases of its Classic Hummus due to possible Listeria monocytotgenes contamination. In December the CDC warned consumers about Listeriosis cases associated with pre-packaged candy apples that caused 26 hospitalizations and five deaths.
Blue Bell itself recalled products just last month after ice cream causing listeriosis was linked to illnesses in Texas and Kansas, including three deaths. The expanded recall includes the following 23 states:
Alabama
Arizona
Arkansas
Colorado
Florida
Georgia
Illinois
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky
Louisiana
Mississippi
Missouri
Nevada
New Mexico
North Carolina
Ohio
