Seth MacFarlane posted the two images below together on Twitter last night, saying simply: “This make me very sad.” Without saying anything more, MacFarlane said worlds about the cruel passing of time.
Once it was Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Scotty. That’s William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy. DeForest Kelley and James Doohan, of course. Kelly left us in 1999 at age 79. Doohan was 85 when he died in 2005. Nimoy, of course, took his honorable leave this week. Now there remains only Captain James T. Kirk; William Shatner is 83. He’s piloting the Enterprise alone now. Seth MacFarlane said it perfectly. Very sad indeed.
