Glee actress Melissa Benoist landed the role of Kara Zor-El in the forthcoming Supergirl TV show on CBS. She posted photos of herself wearing her Supergirl costume which was designed by three-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood. Atwood worked on The Flash, Arrow, Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha, Chicago, Into the Woods, Snow White and the Huntsman). No wonder she’s got Oscars on the shelf!
Atwood said, “In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today.” Atwood hit the nail on the head. DC Comics fans approve of the new look. WilliamLopez wrote: “Melissa looks lovely as Supergirl.” And NavyGuns chimed in: “She looks gorgeous in that costume. It has the classic lines with just enough modern touches.”
