On Love & Hip Hop, Chrissy Monroe has been ditching those long blonde wigs for a shorter, smarter look. Not unlike another reality TV star, NeNe Leakes of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Both are outspoken women known to “tell it like it is.” When Chrissy Monroe was recently asked about her past working as an escort, Chrissy–like NeNe–owns her past. (NeNe was a stripper). But Chrissy doesn’t want to talk about her escort days because she “doesn’t want to glorify” the profession to young girls who might be watching the show. “I used it as a stepping stone to get me to where I am today,” Chrissy explained.
NeNe Leakes was a 25-year-old single mother when she started working as an exotic dancer. In her autobiography Never Make the Same Mistake Twice, she said stripping made her feel very powerful. “I made a ton of money and I just couldn’t stop. I bought a new car…I paid my son’s tuition.” She added, “I thought of the men as my personal ATM machines.” Leakes, rumored to be the most highly paid star in the Real Housewives franchise, is worth about $12 million.
