First there was Jack in the Box’s bacon milkshake. Now there’s Little Caesars’ deep pan, bacon wrapped pizza. Three-and-a-half feet of bacon wrapped around the rectangular pizza pie. Little Caesars CEO David Scrivano explains: “Every time you take a bite out of the crust, you’ll get bacon.”
The promotion for the Bacon Wrapped Crust Deep Dish Pizza–which will be available for a limited time beginning February 23 for $12–is a slap in the face for the CDC and the American Heart Association. Both the CDC and the AHA are promoting February as “Heart Month.” They are encouraging Americans to lower their sodium intake to help prevent heart attacks and strokes.
