The 23-year-old, 6’1” lingerie model, Karlie Kloss, has left her job as a Victoria’s Secret Angel behind. A Victoria’s Secret executive told People (who voted Kloss Top Model of 2014): “It became clear she would not have the time to fulfill her myriad commitments.” Some sources say Kloss left in part because of her conservative, venture capitalist boyfriend Joshua Kushner. Some say she wants to concentrate on her studies at New York University. Former supermodel Christy Turlington Burns (an NYU alum) wrote Kloss a letter of recommendation. Kloss will begin classes this fall.
Kloss is enrolled in NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Students get to create their own “interdisciplinary program that culminates in a final research, artistic, or project thesis.” In 2013, when Kloss considered going to Harvard, she spoke about possible majors. “I have always had an interest in medicine; my father is an emergency room doctor. Now that I am getting more and more involved in these entrepreneurial projects I think business is something that would also be fascinating. To have a better understanding of economics and business, and the way to run a successful company. Tyra [Banks] did it. She went to Harvard business school. I can do it, too.”
