Jon Stewart, the comedian who transformed the way Americans process the daily news–especially the political–during a long run as host of the fake news program, The Daily Show, is leaving the show.
Comedy Central announced on Tuesday night that Stewart will leave the show this year. In a statement the network said it has “had the incredible honor and privilege of working with Jon Stewart. His comedic brilliance is second to none,” adding that Stewart will “remain at the helm of The Daily Show until later this year.”
