Lakers guard Nick Young was bubbling over with enthusiasm for Lin’s outstanding performance in an OT victory over the Boston Celtics. “My man JLin was doing his thing,” Young yelled during an exuberant post-game interview. (Lin had scored a season-high 25 points.)

When talk show host Jimmy Kimmel showed the clip of the celebration (see below) to Kobe Bryant, Bryant had the look of a teacher about to scold misbehaving students. (Bryant is out for the season with an injury for the second straight year.) Sure, the Celtics (21-33) are a bad to middle-of-the-road squad. But there hasn’t been much for the Lakers (14-41) to celebrate this year, even when Kobe was still playing. Was the celebration giddy and youthful and lacking in poise? Maybe. But isn’t enthusiasm something Lakers fans and Lakers management might embrace, instead of fighting? Even Kobe? His team won, after all.
