For 12 years NBC anchor man Brian Williams has been re-telling a story about his experience in the American invasion of Iraq. He said he was traveling in a Chinook helicopter that was shot down and had to make an emergency landing. That did not happen. In light of Williams’ admission, NBC reprimanded Williams with a six month suspension without pay.
According to a number of reports on his contract, Brian Williams gets paid $13 million a year. $6.5 million is a lot of money to get docked. But it wasn’t long ago that Williams made do with just $8 million – that’s how much he got paid when he first took over for Tom Brokaw on NBC’s Nightly News, in 2004…just months after his Iraqi desert flight.
