Is Sarah Palin in the news much these days? She’s on FOX News, of course, but is that quite the same thing as in the news? Anyway, she’s in the news this week because of a photo she posted to Facebook on Thursday that shows her son Trig treating the family dog like a bearskin rug (I’m guessing there’s a bearskin rug somewhere in the Palin house, probably off a bear that Palin herself shot). The Internet roundly criticized Palin for the photo. Well, now Palin has finally responded to the criticism, and she took the opportunity to attack PETA, Ellen DeGeneres, and Barack Obama.
“Dear PETA,” she writes. “Chill. At least Trig didn’t eat the dog … Did you go as crazy when your heroic Man-of-Your-Lifetime, Barack Obama, revealed he actually enjoyed eating dead dog meat?” She also reminded PETA that it didn’t “get all wee-wee’d up” when its Woman of the Year Ellen DeGeneres posted this picture. Palin’s post also exhibits her flair with run-on sentences and concludes “Our pets, including Trig’s best buddy Jill Hadassah, are loved, spoiled and cared for more than some people care for their fellow man whose politics may not mesh with nonsensical liberally failed ways or don’t fit your flighty standards.” Okay, she makes a fair point about the DeGeneres picture, and maybe Obama does like dog (at least it’s dead dog meat), but can someone please explain why someone would name a dog “Jill Hadassah”?
