No team has ever made it to the NFL Playoffs the same year it played seven straight games without a win. But never is for non-believers, and the Carolina Panthers are cut of different cloth. After a regular season streak that saw the team go 0-6-1, the Panthers turned things around like the season was Ginger Rogers and they were Fred Astaire. Putting the zero on the other end of the equation, Carolina went undefeated in December.
They’ll need every ounce of belief in themselves during a tough test against the Cardinals today in Carolina. (How do you get home field advantage when you dump six in a row? Anyway…) But momentum can mean a lot–ask the 2007 New York Giants, who played all road games on their way to a Super Bowl victory. Today’s Panthers-Cardinals wildcard matchup is at 4:20 Eastern on ESPN.
