Glee actress Naya Rivera celebrated her birthday by guest hosting the ABC talk show The View. It was the one day where co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg (African-American) and Rosie Perez (Puerto Rican-American) were absent. Sitting with an all-white panel of hosts including Rosie O’Donnell and Nicolle Wallace, the subject of showering came up. Wallace said she showers three times a day.
“I think that white people shower a lot more than ethnics,” Rivera said as Wallace couldn’t help but burst out into a fit of giggles. “I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing.” She added, “My mom is half black, half Puerto Rican. She showers every day, so I can say this. But I’m now married to a white man [Ryan Dorsey] and he showers a lot, like two, three times a day.” Her point is: “a dermatologist says you are only supposed to shower once or twice every three days, so I’m right on the mark.”
